Re: Depth transducer

Should be solid directly in front of the keel box. I've got mine mounted there using (don't laugh) toilet bowl wax, works great. Mine is hull #82.

Speed under power (BMW D7)

Just wanting to find out what I should be able to do under power with the D7. I've got the (what I assume is) original Martec folding prop on it. It seems like it doesn't rev nearly as high when under load as it can when out of gear, which seems to me it might be overpropped...but...I can't be sure ...

Re: Spinnaker Pictures

Hi Brandon, You will find that sailing with the spin is pretty easy on the 7.9. If you go to our web page Doyleboston.com. If you go into the Photo's or even the tuning guide you will see lots of pictures to help you out. If you have any other questions or just need more info please ask! You can re...

Re: Upper and Lower Shroud Tensions

Well, I am certainly no expert, but the Loos website has the equivalency table between the old "Model B" and the PT-2. The Doyle Boston 7.9 tuning guide has the numbers for the "Model B", so then you can extrapolate! Tuning guide: http://www.doylesails.com/downloads/DoyleS279Tuni...

Spinnaker Pictures

All- Our first season with our 7.9, we've become pretty good at handling her with the main and genoa and are starting to look at our spinnaker and thinking that we should probably get it out at some point and try it out. I've looked at the diagram in the manual, and I think I see the general idea of...

Re: FRONT HATCH REPLACEMENT

Stef-

Is this the trim ring you are referring to: http://www.lewmar.com/products.asp?id=8 ... &channel=1 ? I didn't get one with mine, and it would be nice to be able to have a screen in the hatch. Need to hunt one down...it just snap into place under the hatch?

Re: FRONT HATCH REPLACEMENT

Also replacing my front hatch. Going from the original (Pomerelle?) to a Lewmar 40. Actually did it last Friday, but I'm going to be doing it AGAIN tonight due to not using enough caulking around the flange to seal adequately. It sure LOOKED like it would be enough, but it was not. Advice to anyone ...

Re: Looking to join the club

AJ- I don't know whether or not this is the same boat that was at Cross Bay. This one is currently sitting at Harbor North in Huron. Did the one you looked at have a green harbor stripe with red anti-fouling? A Nissan 9.8 with cockpit mounted controls? The boat definitely needs a significant amount ...

Re: Looking to join the club

Tim- I was starting to wonder if anyone still frequented this board! My wife and I went and looked at one this past weekend actually. It needs a good amount of work (starboard bulkhead needs replaced, some soft spots in the deck, etc.), but if we were able to get it for a good price (taking all the ...

Looking to join the club

Hello all! After significant analysis of my requirements for my next boat, I have settled upon the S2 7.9 as the best fit intersection of those specifications. I currently have my eye on at least two possible boats to go look at in the very near future and would like to ask if anyone has a list of t...
