Re: stock trailer weight

Not sure what the F150 with eco boost is rated at to tow, but we hauled mine with that to Nasvhille from Northwest Arkansas. It handled it well and didn't have any trailer sway until we reached about 75mph. Boat on trailer weighed in at just over 6100lbs after we emptied a lot of gear out of it. Was...

Re: stock trailer weight

My trailer is similar in design, but I believe mine is a little "beefier". Last year in Nashville the trailer weighed in at 1500 or 1600lbs when doing my weight certification. So I put yours at 1200 - 1400 as a best guess.

Re: Best GoPro Camera mount

One of the J22s racing in Nasvhille last year had a bar that extended vertically from the transom to mount the gopro on. I've thought of clamping a bar or pole to my motor mount to allow for a look down into the cockpit. I just have the grab loops myself. Going to test that out this weekend. Also ho...

Re: 1985 was it a non good year for manufacturing

I've got an '83 and the first thing I had to do was repair a rotten mast step. Check for softness around the whole cabin top. I have a 5hp 4 stroke and it carries me around 5kts around the lake.

Re: Hull #153 getting full overhaul

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately I already ordered 3 quarts, but I'll save one and do another coat next summer/fall. Hoping to have her looking good and moving fast two months from now in Nashville.

Re: Hull #153 getting full overhaul

About to pull the boat for a week's worth of work. Bottom already has a vc17 cover, but going to apply a new coat or two. Anyone know how many quarts to cover? The website says 4 qts for a boat our size, but can't tell if that is including a basecoat which I already have. Also, the main reason to pu...

Danger Zone is a possible for Sarasota. Is it probable that we'll get our own line?

Re: Mainsheet Traveler

Dave, The equalizer was a great experience. It looks like I'll be taking over the vice commodore spot for the club up here on Beaver Lake and hope to shape up the race committee's reputation after seeing how much more enjoyable a race day can be with a committee that is always on top of what is goin...

Not sure about a physical template, but specs are on page 19 of class rules.

Mainsheet Traveler

Let's see 'em! 2 to 1? 3 to 1? 4 to 1? Windward sheeting? What are you preferences? I just rigged my boat after all the work we did and am not happy with the windward sheeting cleats on the traveler car. Got into some puffy conditions this weekend and had some trouble reaching down to the car to eas...

I'm looking at tackling this project also. Was also wanting to set a switch for my bilge as a backup in case the float switch fails.

Re: Hull #153 getting full overhaul

I'm definitely interested in seeing how much you shortened the genoa tracks. The less through bolts I have to put back into this thing the happier I'll be. Also about to place an order for all new running rigging. I'm using the document on the main site for lengths. Any suggestions on lines that wor...

Re: Hull #153 getting full overhaul

Ok.....so the repairs have taken a good while, but are finally complete. The deck is getting a new coat of paint and non skid this week. Which leads me to my next question. Any suggestions on hardware placement on deck? We have refilled all holes before painting the deck so I will truly be starting ...

Re: Hull #153 getting full overhaul

We cut a 3/16 stainless plate as well, but we are looking underneath the mast step. My compression step was delaminating and hollow for the top 8-10". So we have cut that away, filled it with coosa board, and are putting the mast step plate between it and the bottom of the mast step as we regla...

Hull #153 getting full overhaul

Hey everybody, I'm new to the board and the class. I recently purchased #153, Danger Zone, from Mark Barton at Grande Maumelle Sailing Club. Haven't even put her in the water yet as we are doing a number of repairs. 1) Cut out, re-core, and re-glass rotten mast step 2) Replace bulkhead behind toilet...
