Boom aft slug slot
It looks like an aft slug slot in the boom for the mainsail clew slug is now legal. Has anyone cut this slot for the slug yet? How did you do it? What is a good spot for this? I’m thinking maybe a foot forward of the black band, so there is lots of room to ease the clew if necessary. Would a rotozip...

Re: TILLER PILOT
I have the Simrad TP-10 and it does very well. I’ll take a photo of the install today, but it is very straight forward. Both the Simrad and Raymarine are installed on the starboard side, 18” forward of the rudder hinge line. One end goes on a pin on the tiller, the other is a pin that goes in a bush...

Re: Keel template
I forgot to mention computerkeels. I tried to get a template from them originally, but was told they didn’t have any and would have to do a run of them to make it worth their while, or something to that effect iirc. The price was much higher. I did not get a template from them.

Re: Keel template
I was VERY careful laying out the points for the keel template, but it was not an exact match for the existing keel. So, I rechecked it and redid it about a thousand times, and finally went with it. The keel is certainly beautiful, smooth, straight and not bumpy because I’m particular about that stu...

Keel template
Does anyone have a source for a printed keel template? I made one from the specifications in this website, but I would very much like to verify its accuracy. Something on paper I could lay my template on would be great.

Re: Hanks or foils?
Thank you all. Ordered a new Harken carbo foil 0 to match the #5 luff tape in our regatta genoa.

Hanks or foils?
What is the current preference for racing headsails - hank or foil? Our tuff luff died in the barn, and we split the main on Sunday, so we’re starting from scratch.

Re: Mast wiring and lights
Thank you Sam! They were exactly where you said, and I don’t know if I would have ever found them without your description. Nice design, also, because any leaks from the deck are directed straight into the bilge. Now I just need to drill through the stack of G10 plates that comprise our mast step...

Mast wiring and lights
Hello all, We predominantly race #279, but the mast is in the barn at the moment for new parts, and I’m contemplating the lights and wiring. The big question is where does the mast wiring exit inside the boat? That would be wonderful to know. Our mast step has been rebuilt, and lacks any evidence of...

Re: Daggerboard measurements and repair
Thanks Sam, I will find out and hopefully take you up on that.
In the meantime, I have photos of the daggerboard coming out of the boat, the template, and DeLand and skin removal. If anyone is interested I'll post them here if you tell me how to do it. Currently they are being rejected.

Re: Daggerboard measurements and repair
Yes, I'm thinking about compukeel. In the meantime I lifted a template off a fair section of the keel per West Systems. I'll check it against the class measurements and see where we are.

Re: Daggerboard measurements and repair
Aha! There it is. Thank you AJ. Re-glassing is certainly the right way to do it, and I don't mind doing it, but I was worried about getting the right finished dimensions again. This daggerboard info should do it. Is it possible to make a template from these dimensions? If so, how's it done? How woul...
