Re: Mast bend, is this weird?

That is weird. Have you checked the forestay length to make sure that you are close to max rake? That would help I would think.

On Board Video footage?

Good day I know that I should probably have some but I have a customer that is new to the boat and normally sails just jib and main but wants to come to do some One Design events. The crew is very green with a spinnaker and are looking for some help. I am wondering if anyone has any on board footage...

Re: Best paint for lift keel

I would do what you did before then apply VC 17 on the keel. Best of both worlds. Also do you lift the board when at the dock? That is another good way to keep most of the board clean.

Re: Optimim Heel Angle in 12 kts Flat Water

You are correct Doug, sail as flat as you can the board is pretty short for the fat little boat we sail so the more you can keep it vertical the faster you will be. (I can call the boat fat as I am too :)

Re: Stern Rail Retrofit

Are you trying to go to the full enclosed railling? If so a lot of boats do that. Save some worry and order from Whitewater Marine in Port Huron they have done a ton of them.

Re: What sailmaker are you using?

We are still around building sails for the class and in fact we still own one. It needs some work as it was a hurricane salvage but one day we will get her out there.

Happy to help in anyway, we have our fall discount time until Dec 1st.
Cheers

Re: How fast

13.6 downwind, back in the MORC days with the chicken chute and the board up! We had our pit dude with his hand on the board line ready to demon drop it! Hit that speed, browned up the undies and dropped the board. Great times oh to be 18 years old and stupid again :)
