We've had all of our sails cut by Bay Sails (main, #1, #2, #3) and chutes. They have a loft here is Sodus Point, NY, but I think they also have a loft in Ohio. Locally they're housed in Katlynn Marine.

Re: Board Position
We've been bringing it all the way up downwind. Have messed with it a bit on reaches more this year than the first few seasons.
Need to spend some time and mark the line better so we have a more functional idea of where it's at.
Appreciate the input. Jay

Re: Upwind Point
Pete,
Thanks very much. Last event of the year for us here this Saturday. We'll change things up a bit and see how we do.

Re: Help with upwind round up and weather helm
Hi all
We picked up #2 as well. Probably our best head sail. Good speed and point. Reduced the handling problems we were having with the #1. Fits in the wind range between the top end of the 1 and bottom end of the 3. Bay Sails.

Board Position
We're pretty new to the class, sailing out of Sodus Bay on Lake Ontario. Myself and two friends partnered in the boat. I come out of 8 Meter and R Class boats, they ran a J33 for 20 years. Have a keel that lifts is new to us! We're wondering how much some owners adjust their keel position during rac...

Upwind Point
We're pretty new to the class, sailing out of Sodus Bay on Lake Ontario. Normal conditions for us are 12-15 knots of breeze with some small chop. Most of the time we're in PHRF fleets. Our home fleet is a couple J24's, a Chaser 29, C&C 29, Soverel 27. Most of the time these boats are 5 to 7 degr...

Re: Board down, when?
We're new the class and have the same type of question; when do you take it up and when do you let it down? I come from R Class and 8 Meter sailing and my partners from a J33. Also; how do you shift gears in light wind (under 5 kts)? She seems to stall in very light breeze and we can't seem to find ...

New member here too. Hull #100, now sailing out of Sodus Bay Yacht Club on Lake Ontario (Sodus Point, NY). We will be looking for other 7.9's on Lake Ontario and hope to meet other owners over the coming season.
