Re: Revised Owner's Manual
Just use Firefox or some other browser that lets you choose to download. I have this posted on a very simple server system that I bought a large amount of storage on something like 10 years ago. I was just there and had no trouble pulling a copy of the manual. Just cause you get a warning doesn't al...

Re: Spreader and Shroud Question
And you have a diesel boat? Me, too. My hull is #45, and my boat was repowered with a 1GM10 Yanmar. What’s in yours? You on Fern Ridge? When I was racing Hobie 18s back in the mid ‘80s, I always missed the race on that reservoir, but I won 18As two years in a row on Dorena Lake.

Re: Spreader and Shroud Question
When I did mine, it took heat. Propane torch heat, coupled with penetrating fluid. I soaked ‘em for a week in ATF, PB Blaster, you name it. The stainless socket head screws still get corroded in the aluminum. So, soak the thing for two weeks. It won’t help, much, but it will give you hope... Clamp t...

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE RUDDER SURVEY???
I see all mention of rudders has disappeared from the class association website. Did the class abandon the effort to find a new rudder supplier? What's happening?

Re: 3DI Sails
Since there is no class racing on the west coast, I invested in 3Di Nordac sails for hull #45. I went with Nordac because my boat is mainly used for fun... and I really like white sails better than the dark colors showing up, these days. The 3Di main has 2 full battens up top and two partial battens...

Re: Revised Owner's Manual
Here is the revised location. My hosting service shut it down as they were concerned about copyright issues. I explained that I had done significant graphics editing and text editing to clean up the document, and that S2 hasn't existed for over 20 years, and that Tiara doesn't supply parts or any su...

Re: Revised Owner's Manual
Try it now. It would be nice if the Class Association would host this revision. I'm not getting much of anything out of this association (considering I am living in Idaho), and may not renew next year. So, if the association wants this revision, it would be great if they could host it so it isn't lo...

GoHoist
Well, it arrived... I'll go to the freight yard tomorrow to pick it up. Anybody else use a GoHoist? I sprung for one and asked them to set mine up so I can extend one of the two gantries high enough to pull the daggerboard. They had never done that before, so I have to take pictures when I lift my b...

Revised Owner's Manual
Here is my (late) Christmas present to the Association... https://host-a.net/f/220402-s2-79-owners-manualpdf Copy and paste the link and it should take you to the manual. I'd like to ask that people take a look and see if I have any typos, errors, etc. I'm particularly interested in knowing if there...

Re: Something I'm working on...
Oh, what the heck...what do you think? I'm trying to stay consistent with the original, but it's easier to redraft the text rather than edit it pixel by pixel. S2 had a lot of typos and other errors, anyway, that I can fix. I wish I had a better original to work fro; these pages are a bit messy and ...

Re: Anybody convert to masthead asymmetrical spinnaker?
Looks like I'll be the first... Not sure if I need to add jumper struts or not; many boats do not. The 7.9 has about 42" of unsupported mast above the shrouds. Even though I just bought new shrouds, maybe I should go back and attach the main shrouds closer to the mast head. But, I've sailed boa...
