looking for ideas. Bought a new larger outboard motor bracket to raise and lower heavier 4 stroke . Need to get a larger wedge type, wood or hard plastic plate that mounts to the transom.
Thanks

Re: Rudder disks
Try using computer CD's, they work for a season, they they self destruct.

rudder slop
any ideas on how to repair my rudder? One side of cheek plate is elongated, as with the rudder. The thing slops around underway.

Re: bicycle mounting
thanks, guy's. it is a full stern rail, but outboard is in the way when lifted. Taken apart and stowed below was are only option. Went to PUT N BAY this last weekend and the wife brought so mutch stuff there wasn't room for them anyway.

bicycle mounting
Anybody have any tips on where to mount two bicycles on the 7.9? Thinking about the stern , but with the outboard back there, thinking it will be in the way.

Re: RUDDER
Got that idea on rudder hole but also have oblong hole problem on plate. Thinking of redrilling plates and rudder head oversize and inserting some kind of stock brass bushing threw all three pieces and then a bolt. Greg

Re: RUDDER
Finally got the rudder from the boatyard to my basement, the slop is coming from between the cheekplates. one plates hole is oblong and the rudder hole is oblong too. No bushing in rudder at all. Thinking of using cd's to shim up on both sides. What do you think??

My tiller has slop in it. Looks like I need new gudgeon bushings. But will that stop the lateral and longitudinal play i'm having?
Thanks, Greg

s2 8.0
A friend of mine has a s2 8.0 with a swing keel that broke clean off at the pivot point and is lying at the bottom of lake Erie right now. Any idea's how to get specs or a replacement keel for a 1978 8.0.
Thanks, Greg

Re: shroud tension
Saw that, its for tuning using the regular loos gage. The numbers don't match up to the professional gage.
