Re: Mast raising system
I am trying to use the one listed on this site but am missing something and caused some damage to the mast....took about a dime sized chunk of aluminum out of the bottom of the mast by the plug/shoe. The halyards attached to turnbuckle-rod assembly along with another line that attaches to the spin p...

Thank you for all the comments, guys!
Would you mind telling me what block you are using on the trailing edge of the mast flicker?

Re: Photos of running rigging
Do you remember the size of the blocks you used, AJ? I am assuming the dyneema is 5/16?

Re: Photos of running rigging
Hey that's my backstay :). How the backstay attaches in your cockpit will depend a lot upon your boat's layout. Mine was redone a few years ago, they use a bit of a different setup from the factory. The owner manual shows quite well how the original backstay hooked up in the cockpit. You can find i...

Re: Photos of running rigging
Many of us now use a simple cascade system with a kicker on the top of the mast to prevent hang-ups where the backstay gets close to the mainsail. It is an easy google. I went with an 8:1 but most folks use more. <img src="https://i.redd.it/erfn0302zrl71.jpg" alt="Finally installed m...

Photos of running rigging
So...I am in the homestretch of an almost 3 year project now...refitting of #351. When I bought this boat in July 2021, I figured I would have it in the water by Christmas....little did I know it was going to be 3 Christmas' later. I did not take photos like I should have when I was disassembling an...

Need a Forward Hatch Cover
It seems a lot of sizes have changed compared what was posted on the site several years ago. I am trying to make a comparison: https://www.defender.com/product3.jsp?path=-1|6880|2290149|3693577&id=48169 https://www.defender.com/product3.jsp?path=-1|6880|2290149|3693577&id=548876 https://www....

Re: Companionway Washboard Guides
Mcmaster carr has the uhmwpe. I bought the desired length and thickness and ripped it to size with a table saw, then routed out the channel. Did the same for the companionway slider tracks. Then replaced the washboard themselves and the covers for the board box. If you do the board box covers, rece...

Companionway Washboard Guides
I believe they are polyethylene ... Regardless, they are past their useful life on #351 and cracked. Where can you source them now? Maybe someone has some other ideas besides plastic? I would welcome any thoughts. Thanks in advance.

Re: Advice for a 7.9 bottom job ??
I'm extremely happy with the results from Total Boat's Total Protect Epoxy Barrier Coat Just finished my 4th season and it's holding up great! I did 4 coats. https://www.totalboat.com/product/totalprotect/ It's comparable to Interprotect but costs slightly less. Interesting...so just a primer/barri...

Re: Hull Construction Around Keel Trunk
Solid glass, at least directly in front of the trunk. I posted a photo of my new transducer installed along with a photo of a 'core sample' of the hull where the transducer was installed, here: https://www.s279.org/board/viewtopic.php?p=9557#p9557 . On the top of the core sample is some coosma high...

Great pix, MnM...thank you for sharing. Any chance you might be able to share the inventory make of the block/tackle/winch you have on the deck? I am finishing my restoration ...am going to be painting this month and want to upgrade some of the original equipment. Thanks in advance.
