Re: Nashville Equalizer 2020

Carey, Nashville Equalizer is a very fun event. Percy Priest “lake” is located about 10 minutes east of the Nashville airport and about 20-25 minutes from downtown Nashville. There are a lot of hotels near by, because of the airport and these are all nice. We generally stay at the Holiday Inn Expres...

Re: Spreader and Shroud Question

Try adding penetrating oil in from the open-end (the mast end) of the spreader and keep it vertical for at least a week. Also a little heat (propane torch) can help break the bolts free, but be very careful not to over heat and make sure you drain all of the penetrating oil out of spreader first. I ...

Re: Annapolis NOOD Regatta

Let's try this again for 2017 Annapolis NOOD Regatta. With a little under two months to the event (May 5-7, 2017), we have 3 boats registered. Hopefully we can get enough boats interested to get a class. If you haven't been to Annaoplis before, it is a great venue. Historic Annapolis, home of the Na...

Re: Annapolis NOOD Regatta

I am already sailing on another boat in Charleston, is the reason I don't pursue getting a class at Charleston. Secondly, I really like going to Annapolis. It is a great city, and we always have a lot of fun there. It's also a 5 hour shorter trip for me to get to Annapolis vs Charleston. Charleston ...

Re: Sarasota?

Actually the 3 boats last year were all from out of town. 2 from Louisville and 1 from Michigan. I believe that 2 of the Louisville boats (Straight Up and Alzyk), Unborrowed (497), and Hunting Party (448) are planning on attending. I have prior commitments and can not make it this year. Hopefully th...

Re: St. Pete's NOODs

Rebel 496 is planning on making the trip south to St. Pete. From conversations at Nashville, I believe the following are also planning on attending: Matros, Alzyk, Straight Up, Scratch, and possibly Raised by Wolves. Who else is planning on the trip south??

Re: How do you get a class measurement certificate?

I don't see why one of us northern boats can't bring the scales down to St. Pete. Generally we get a couple of boats from Michigan (hopefully more this year), the Louisville guys, and the some from Tennessee. One of us can arrange to get the scales there, and can handle the weighing.

Re: How do you get a class measurement certificate?

Check out the class rules posted on the website. There is a complete section that details what can be on the boat when it is weighed. The scales that we are now using to weigh boats are very mobile, they are drive-up style in which the boat is weighed while on the trailer, and then the trailer is we...
