Replacement Speed & Depth Instruments
I would be most grateful for some technical help in replacing my current speed & depth instruments (Signetmarine SL267A & SL172) with either the same or other recommendations. Considerations to bear in mind are the existing 5 inch circular holes in the cabin bulkhead (and perhaps how to cove...

S2 toe rails revisited
Was unfortunate enough to have sustained some toe rail damage to the starboard side of the 7.9. Looked on the website & was not able to communicate with Chuck Hutchinson who was previously supplying the toe rails. Does anyone have any ideas? On the brighter side "Tops in Quality" were ...

Standing rigging
Thanks for the replies gents. The forestay on my boat was some 5" short of the class maximum allowed & thus I have some concerns over how the shrouds play into the equation of an "ideal" set up.

Standing Rigging Repacement
The lakes in Alberta are still frozen solid & now would be a good opportunity to replace all of the standing rigging. I would be most grateful if somebody was able to provide the correct lengths & diameters, or recommend a company that has experience with the 7.9

phrf S2 7.9
At Sylvan Lake, Alberta, we have 3 7.9's which are base rated at 168. One of the boats is equipped with a masthead kite & takes a 3 second hit (165). Board is raised only when we have a gorilla onboard.

The mast step semicircular "plug" is beyond repair on my boat. Could anyone provide me with some information/ideas about how to replace this item.

Sling Location Points
Could someone please provide me with the correct locations for slings on the boat for a hoist to complete the antifouling process. Are there any other considerations to look out for?

Halyard diameters
Thanks for your help.
Would there be any advantage gained in reducing halyard diameter from the standard 3/8" to 5/16"?
If the spin is launched from the hatch companionway, what lengths & diameter of sheet would be suitable?

Doug

Rig Tension
Tom, Thanks for the quick response. We race tonight so I'll measure up. Have the distinct feeling that the forestay & shrouds are the standard (3/16"). The boat came equipped with a masthead kite & we are rated at 165 with the other 2 S2's being rated at 168. To date the 3 second hit se...

Having recently purchased a 7.9, could somebody please give me an indication of a basic set up. The boat has greater mast rake than the 2 other 7.9's in the club & the shrouds are significantly tighter. We sail on a lake where the wind is usually light (3 to 10 kts.). Waves are not significant. ...
