Dave,
Thanks for the link to Murrays. I didn't have that one before.
And, yes, Monel is a better choice.

I got my Pop Rivet tool from Fastenal.

Tom - Ah, the 4200 / 5200 question. Which to use? Which to use?.... I just happened to have an opened tube of 5200 nearby and have no plans to remove any of the attached items for the foreseeable future. The 5200 gives me a little bit of extra holding power in case something "untoward" hap...

I use 5/16 hardwood dowel. You can either drill them to accept a cotter pin or just leave them as is and they will swell somewhat from the humid environment, "locking" them in place. Knock them out with the stainless steel pin. I usually get 2 to 3 uses from each piece. They will easily br...

The original post is from January 2006. I never did add the track, saw no immediate reason for doing so, although I am considering it now to give me a bit more adjustment when single handing a whisker pole. Class rules allow for the spinnaker ring to be set in place on the track to class dimensions....

Mine are still on the boat. I use them when single handing. I let the jib trimmer decide when I have a crew.

By the way, my brother John lives in Barnegat, NJ and my Aunt and Uncle live on LBI in Brant Beach.
If I come up for a visit in the summer time, I will be looking y'all up for a ride on your S2's.

Where is Little Silver, NJ?

I agree with the 40 foot minimum, don't forget to add in any mast top hardware. The VHF antenna shouldn't be too much of a problem if it scrapes the bridge as it'll bend somewhat.

Draw bridges shouldn't be a problem though, just fixed bridges and they usually list their clearance on the charts.

Welcome to the Fleet. I have the Head Foil also and I really like it as opposed to hanks or the Harken system. Not that I have anything against the Harken, but the Head Foil came with the boat. I recently replaced the extrusions and I like the way the sails go up and down quickly when single handing...

Crew available for St. Pete NOOD 2007

Mike (Bernoulli) - Do you need an extra hand again this year? I've got quite a bit more sailing experience on my S2 this past year and would like to crew for you or someone else at the St. Pete NOOD's.
My boat is currently dry docked for some serious bottom work.

Head Plumbing

Here a a couple of links which go into specifics about raw or treated sewage discharge, coastal waters and No Discharge Zones. It is important to know the difference between State Waters where NDZ's exist and Coastal Waters outside 3 miles where sewage discharge is permitted. I know several skippers...
