Forward Hatch Replacement on 1986 #480
I've read several posts on this forum. Since I cannot replace the broken latch handles; I hope to find a replacement hatch. I measured the Taylormade original hatch at 16 3/4" x 16 3/4" internal. This Plastimo (Size 40 Ref: 63887) seems to be close, Has anyone tried it ? Or another replace...

Re: Where are all the boats
I have #480 Gris-Gris (formerly Runaway at Privateer YC). Purchased June 22, 2009. The only 7.9 on Lake Wheeler, AL (berthed at Joe Wheeler State Park Marina). I understand that Gordon Trowbridge sold #479 Slo-Motion; so no 7.9 on Lake Guntersville. And Horace Holland hasn't had a 7.9 on Lake Wilson...

Re: 7.9 Trailer New or Used - Urgent Need
I bought a new trailer from Triad Trailers in Raleigh, NC (formerly in Conn). I'd measured a custom trailer owned by a fellow 7.9 sailor in Nashville as the basis. I highly recommend Triad. Mike Orro will work with you to build exactly what you what. Now he has good measurements to use. We made a fe...

Mast Step Measurements or Template
The boatyard just cut out the mast step fiberglass without making a template.
I need one if anyone has it.
Or at least measurements relative to the keel well to the SS mast step bolts, or the mast pivot slot.
Anyone got the data?
Thanks,
Ron

Cushion Cleaning
What's the best way to clean the original cushions on my 1986 #480 (tan with blue crosshatch) ?
They are in surprisingly good shape, except that several have lost their zipper slider.
What kind of material is it anyway?

Where is the S2 7.9 CG?
- fore/aft (relative to the daggerboard)?
- vertically (relative to the waterline or bottom)?
I need the info to compute the tongue weight for my new trailer.

Re: 7.9 Hull Line Drawing
The immediate need is for the trailer manufacturer. Since he is 500 miles from the boat, he wants some accurate data for bunk placement, center of gravity (tongue weight), bow support, etc.
For me, I'd frame it and put it on the wall.

Re: 7.9 Underbody Hull Line Drawing
Thanks Tim.
I have the owners manual - a copy of a copy of copy..... And I want a clean drawing like on page three.
I may have mis-spoke. I am actually looking for a underbody line drawing, showing the dimensions of the hull shape.

Does anyone have an accurate, large scale line drawing the 7.9 ?

Re: S2 7.9 Tiller
Thanks. I'm not much of a woodworker, as evidenced by my "C" in junior high woodshop. H&L quoted me about $95 based on my guestimated dimensions. My son made some actual tiller measurements of the (broken) tiller on the boat, I wanted to confirm these before ordering from H&L: base...

S2 7.9 Tiller
Anyone have the tiller drawing? I think that it is B-251?? Or the dimensions?
H&L Marine Woodworks no longer has the info to replace my S2 7.9 tiller.
