Re: 2009 Annapolis NOOD dates

Per the Notice of Race 2.1 each class must have a minimum entry of seven boats. We had seven boats registered but now have six. Do we still have a class start?

Re: 2009 Annapolis NOOD dates

Bob, we are looking at Chestertown, MD.

Tom, we would like keep the powerboat in Chestertown on the river and put the S2 7.9 in Rock Hall. I'd love to talk to you about marinas, local knowledge, etc.

Re: 2009 Annapolis NOOD dates

Peregrine will be at the Annapolis NOOD again this year. And we'll be leaving her down there after the regatta as we are moving from Massachusetts to the Eastern Shore of Maryland this summer.

Peregrine had a great time in Annapolis and we'll be back again next year. Congrats to the top finishers - you guys are all extremely fast. We really enjoyed the racing on Sunday when the wind picked up. We'd love to see all of you come to Marblehead NOOD this year and race in our home waters. Rega...

We have five boats signed up for Annapolis so far - all five boats are from out-of-town (TN, VA, MA, MI, MI). It would be great to get a few of the local guys to sign up to insure we have a race.

We also look forward to meeting everyone in Annapolis. This is our first out-of-town regatta and we look forward to finally doing some one-design racing.

The Triad trailer arrives next week.

We're planning to buy a trailer from Triad this winter and come down to Annapolis. And as I've already posted in your other thread, we live and race in the Marblehead area and would be very supportive of a S2 7.9 start in the Marblehead NOOD.

Count me in.

My boat is moored at Jubilee Yacht Club in Beverly, MA, about three miles from Marblehead. There are two other S2 7.9 in our club but both have roller furling headsails.

I would also be willing to provide local support to any boats coming in from out of town.

We race Peregrine in PHRF New England with a rating of 168 (same as J-24s). We are allowed to raise the board in all races with the exception of the PHRF New England Championships where there is a specific prohibition against raising the board if it is represents more than 10% of the boats total bal...

Sam, Your comment about the groove being narrow makes me think you have your genoa trimmed in too tightly. Easy the genoa out slightly to create a more forgiving entry on the sail and a wider groove. You wont point as high but you shouldn't be trying to point in light air anyway. You're better off f...

We experienced the exact same damage after snagging a lobster pot doing 6 knots upwind during a race. It took us a few minutes to untangle ourselves and sail away. The repair bill for that one was big. Now when we race, the crew member sitting most forward on the rail is responsible for calling lobs...

S2 7.9 Emblem

I'd like to acknowledge my crew for a great year by giving them jackets embroidered with the S2 7.9 emblem. I can find the emblem referenced in the Class Association rules but I'm unable to find and actual copy of the emblem. Any help? I assume Spike Boston or one of the sail makers must have a temp...
