Re: foam?
I have never seen a picture of what it looks like under the floor, but if you cut a way enough floor, can you also cut out the weight, do the repair and replace it all again? Jeff

So come join us in St Pete!! You will find the fleet very helpfull and friendly! Welcome!! Jeff (#250 and #...

Re: Powder Coating Spars, Any Luck?
Another option, I had my body shop paint the mast and boom. I did the sanding, not all the way down, just to smooth out some of the bad spots. I bought the paint and prep paint they recommended, and they sprayed the mast and boom for me.

Re: rudder question
I use to be on the rules committee, this would have to be looked at pretty close...the rudder will need to weigh in properly, and the standard rudder is around 60 lbs. You can PM Chris Craig for an official ruling. It would be best to have the standard rudder set up for one design racing. Jeff chris...

Fitting a non racing 7.9 for cruising
I have a 7.9 that I race, and I have just purchased a 7.9 to rehab for cruising, but, this "cruiser" has no cruising amenities. Does any one have the cabinet above the cooler and want to sell it, and the brackets for the table that was on some models, also any of the fabric pockets that we...

Re: Sarasota Role Call
Does anyone know of a (7.9) boat that could be chartered to race in the Sarasota Regatta? Or, a boat I could put a crew on or half a crew, including skipper if needed? I would like to test my newest camera mount on a few boats and get some promo pics of the mounts in action. Jeff Mootz ("Skyhaw...

Re: bilge pump
Best to find out where the water is coming from! These boats should be dry. If water is only in the bilge area then this could be a small leak in a through hull, or if the V berth cushions are wet then, it could be bow stanchions, running lights or front hatch may be leaking. Good luck!! Jeff

Welcome all to Minneapolis MN for our Class Championship Regatta on beautiful lake Minnetonka!! So far 26 have registered before the dead line. This could be another 30 boat regatta! The lake is up and the weeds are down this year!!! So we shouldn't have as much weed clearing to do, but make sure y...

Re: Portlight configuration confusion
Hi Chris, the 7.9's come with 2 fixed windows, and an optional small third opening port, so, some 7.9's have two fixed and not the third. The 8.0 has 3 fixed windows (more of a cruiser). 99% of 7.9 owners will know their boat (more of a racer). Also, all but about (10) 7.9's have a lifting center bo...
