But with the board up, aren't my options limited in this situation?fleck wrote:Every have one of those TIGHT reaches where it's hard to get the spin to fly? Try keeping the Genoa/jib up and raise the board all the way up. You'll need to head higher to account for the slip but its fast.

I have a Nissan 5hp 2-stroke, long shaft. Switching to the Merc high thrust prop recommended by Fleck made a world of difference. Compare it to switching from a 3.0 rear end and bicycle tires on your car to a 4.56 and racing slicks. Before the switch, the prop would spin any time you hit the throttl...

I like the idea of the fiberglass driveway rods, but fear they will be messy when they break. I found the following from McMaster Carr and am guessing they will work better than dowels or pens (break too easy), but will break away clean before damage is done. Less than three bucks for four feet: Par...

Far Fig Newton (Annapolis) has a masthead for PHRF and is rated 165 vs 171 for standard OB. If you want to ask his opinion and can't find an EMAIL address for Dave N., PM me or Bob Fleck. Personally, I'd rather keep the 171 rating. Are you planning to come to Screwpile? There will be at least three ...

Membership Decals
Are the membership decals complete? Are they be mailed automatically after renewal? I see in the rules (below) the suspension ended Jan 1. I assume they are required for NOODs? NOTE: RULES 1.7.D and 1.7.E (above) shall be in force only after 1/1/05. These rules are suspended, by vote of the Governin...

Stephanie, You are correct, Schaefer discontinued the series four blocks. I used a Schaefer series five (506-05), which has a load rating of 1750 lbs. I believe this is slightly more than the series 4 blocks (I looked this up when I replaced mine but I didn't find it with a quick search this time). ...

I installed an Alpine CD/MP3 radio about two years ago. I cut a slot in the bulkhead over the starboard quarterberth so that the head unit fit in the shelf above the electrical panel. I used a PolyPlanar water resistant cover (about $20) to mount the head unit. It is very sturdy and protects the fac...

I replaced mine with the Lewmar low profile two years ago. I got lucky and picked up a new hatch on Ebay under $200 including shipping. @last is dead on with the screw sizes and fit. I had to make a quick run to West Marine when I discovered the old screws didn't fit. The low profile is sturdy enoug...
