Re: BMW D7 Fuel Tank Plumbing
My D7 setup has a return line, with a second in-line filter. Never had the tank out, so can't offer an opinion on the hose you found though. I am pulling mine this winter for good and will look when it is out of the boat.

Re: Rail stanchions
If you don't have vacuum bagging supplies, an alternate way to keep the upside down parts in place is to use a layer of wax paper under the wetted cloth, supported by a chunk of 4 inch cushion foam. place a small piece of plywood under the foam and prop it in place using a 2X4 or 2X2. Have made quit...

Re: PROPELLER STRUT REPLACEMENT?
What was your motivation for pulling the Yanmar? Seems that most racers just like losing the weight and additional drag.
Also, how do you intend to repower?
When do you think you'll complete the change?

Re: Front Hatch Advice?
Another hatch option is through Vetus. The dimensions fit the Bowmar opening a little better and you can also purchase an interior trim piece. I installed one in hull 23 about 5 years ago and am very pleased with the results. Vetus quality is on par with Lewmar.

PROPELLER STRUT REPLACEMENT?
I am looking for a source to replace my existing prop strut that seems to be suffering from electrolysis damage and is very brittle. Would consider a new or used one. If this ends up being too difficult will just go outboard. Are there any available from Tiara? Any other suggestions would be appreci...

Re: Companion Way Hatch
Stephen; I have one that I bought a few years ago as a spare. There is a tiny nick on one corner that is in the portion that slides in the tracks and once installed, will be hidden. Give me a call if you are interested - 443-603-2259 or email: psa-sailing@comcast.net I'm located in Annapolis, MD Tha...

Re: New sail question
What is the luff dimension of the new sail? Perhaps you can make some adjustment with the turnbuckle and extend the headstay ? The only other idea could be to put an eye in the luff and run a cunningham to it -

Re: Rudder, breaking prevention
I have read a few comments and am a little suspect about inserting rods in foam. The foam is too soft meaning the rods will just move around inside once you button it up. My preference is to grind out a layer of fiberglass cloth on each side of the pivot bolt and then down into the blade and laminat...

Re: daggerboard / hull damage
While prepping the hull for new bottom paint, I discovered a separation in the gel coat and fiberglass just forward of the dagger board. The only way to fix this is to grind out the bad glass and rebuild. Here's a photo of the hull with most of the damage cut out. I intend to laminate 1708 until the...

Re: Mast mainsail track set screw
Thanks Boz. The only problem is that it doesn't seem to correspont to any of the P dimensions - also confusing at 29 ft 5 in or 29 ft 6 in. Seems that 29 ft 6 in (29.5) is referenced in class rules -

Mast mainsail track set screw
Does anyone have a set screw in their mast mainsail track? Just noticed one on ours - appx 6 in from the top.
Have no idea if this was a class installed item or if it should be removed and a black stripe installed instead.
