Companionway Vinyl Trim

I'm looking for a source to replace the white vinyl trim that outlines the companion way opening. It is "U" shaped in profile, 1/2"X1/2" and snaps on over the exposed edge of the fiberglass.
Any ideas?

Thanks

Snap Hook?

Does anybody use a snap hook instead of a snap shackle on the spin halyard?
I'm using them on the spin pole with good results.

...actually I need the measurement to the point well above the spreaders, about 3' down from the top, where the upper stay attaches to the mast. There is a elongiated hole there for the T-fitting on the stay to slide into. Thanks! Dave   Sorry Dave. I misunderstood the email you sent t...

Mast Specs

Does anybody have specifications on the replacement mast? I need new standing rigging and want to get it right. I'm especially concerned how far up the mast the slot is for the upper stays.

Have you looked at www.Alohaowners.com? In their "Manuals" section there is a D17 owners manual and shop manual.

I have a vague recollection that it is mineral oil. You might be lucky enough to find a opening to replenish it.

Mast Electrical Connections

I am having a new mast made and am seeking advice on connecting the wires at the base of the mast for lights, VHF, and wind machine. Is it best to use plugs or run the wires from the mast through the deck to a junction box somewhere? When the mast falls down it's nice to have plugs! Has anyone done ...

Extra Instrument Covers

Um...through a strange twist of fate, I now have extra covers. I think they are 5" diameter. Are you still in need?

Sandblast the bottom?

I need to strip 20 years of bottom paint off my 7.9 and am considering sandlasting. Has anyone have any experience with this?

On Akela, we have been trying an idea from a local j24. We removed the downhaul and moved the twings forwardof the stays. The windward twing is pulled down to the lifeline and the guy acts as the downhaul. We also removed the downhaul bridal (less complexity) and use a fixed topping lift: jut pick u...
