Re: Mast Step Repair
Still unclear if the repair is done from the inside to remove plywood and then a new 4.5 inch plug placed into the mast step area? If so, how big an area to peel the carpet to be comfortable??. I saw 13 in across and 16 in long . Another section on each side of the trunk about 5 inches as well. IS T...

Re: Mast spreaders
Thanks did you drill towards the outside or by mast. I assume underside.
If no other damage did you remove them and try to seal or repair in any way.
I'm not quite sure how to take spreaders off.
Thanks

Mast spreaders
Does anyone have information or diagrams on how to change the spreaders on my mast.
They seem to be leaking from the trailing edge, however I can find no other structural changes.
Advice appreciated!

Re: Where are all the boats
Hello
All is well so, as the boat is in the water for winter sailing. A Noreaster and a ft. of snow here tomorrow.
Hoping for more winter sailing soon in Oceanside NY.
Fair winds and following seas!

Re: Careening
We have been playing with pool covers the blue bubble stuff -- sink the back with bricks and slide the boat into the under blanket up to the rudder and tie it up -- its working fine on flying scotts and I'm about to try it on the S2 after the winter -- or pay a 56 yr old kid like me to scrub the bot...

Should I use lexan if so where do I get it?
Has anyone used something more UV and Step proof like SS, Fiberglass, brushed aluminium?
Lexan seems like its not too step proof any ideas on what to use and where to get it?

Mast A-Frame
I just got a 7.9 and an A-Frame for mast lifting -I take it the 2x4s pivot from upright towards the bow eye with the A frame tilting forward - is this simple or am I missing something - maybe the A frame stays fixed as a derrick??
