I also have a re-painted waterline but I haven't bothered yet to re-do it. It would be nice to have the original S2 7.9 logo painted back on though. I've always thought that I should be able to sand the new waterline stripe thin enough so the old logo shows through. Then you could make a pattern so ...

Looking for Lake Erie Boats
I'd like to get a current list of Lake Erie boats so maybe in the future we could get some one-design classes at local regattas. So far I have the following boats: Greg Fiegelist (hull #?) Vermillion, Ohio (yacht club or marina?) Penny Naber #435 (Cheap Thrills) Monroe, MI (yacht club or marina?) St...

2004 CCR?
Just wondering if anyone out there knows if the 2004 CCR venue has been officially selected? I know Sarnia Yacht Club was talked about.
Also any idea at what dates they may be looking at? I know it's early but some of us need our vacation in by the first of the year.

I would think that the closest fleet would be Fleet #7. They are listed on their website as Lake St. Clair, Michigan and Ontario, though most of the boats are located in the Detroit area. http://www.homestead.com/Fleet7/ I would be interested to know how many boats there are in Western Lake Erie bas...

I took Tom Elsen's advice and called the Interlux help line (1-800-468-7589) for some help. They seem to think that my problem is that my Interprotect bottom is too smooth. He says that I need to use some 80 grit sandpaper and basically roughen up the surface a bit so that the paint will have someth...

By Ron Pool on Thursday, September 12, 2002 - 02:34 pm: I replaced mine 3 years ago. You must fax in a request to S2 at 616-394-7473 and request a quote. They charged me $300. It comes with no holes drilled. They will not talk to you over the phone. Ron Pool This was a posting from the old S2 7.9 fo...

VC-17 Paint Problems
I've been using VC-17 paint on my boats for years now with pretty good results but the past 2 or 3 years many boats in our club have had alot of trouble with the paint coming off after a light scrub with a sponge. By the end of the season I've basically got no bottom paint left and the boats a real ...

You can check out the Fleet 7 Website at http://www.homestead.com/Fleet7/ then click on the link S279triv.pdf. This document from S2 yachts shows the hatches were available at one time for $300 but much of this info is out of date. I'm not sure how much luck you'll have these days getting a response...

I would contact one of the executive members to see if they have your hull # on file from one of the Class Championship Regattas. If you're lucky they'll have one. One of the problems with the old way of weighing boats is that you never received an actual certificate with your weight. Many of the ol...
