Cascade Backstay - When & how much?

I'm in the process of doing the splicing for a new backstay with a Melges 24 kicker to replace the pinch type on #171. I know the advantage in light air - release the backstay to get it out of the way of the main, but how much should be on after the tack? I realize it depends on the wind, but assumi...

Eagle Trailer

In '97 when I needed a trailer (my cradle rotted away), I checked with S2; the trailer was an option at one time. They said Eagle Trailers built at least some of the trailers for them. When I contacted Eagle they knew exactly what I need, their only question was if it was a fixed or retractable keel...

Top Speed

I'm not sure how fast we were going, we had an analog knotmeter that read up to 10. We pegged it going down-wind in a race on Lake Pepin on the MN - WI border during a race.
