Re: Asymmetrical Spinnaker
:D "Sail" magazine July 2009 did a comparison of The A-sail , S-sail, and a Parasailor2 In a nutshell the S-sail seemed to get the most out of the true windspeed, particularly in the close reaching to broad reaching angles compared to the other two. Shorthanded? A-sail gets the nod because...

Re: What Genoa size?
Seems that I remember that our S2 7.9 offered the 170 genoa as an option.
What are your thoughts on comparing the 170 genny to a Code 0 A-symmetrical.?
yeah, I have been out in less than 5 mph wind days and wished for more sail; good thing they make Cold Beer!

Thanks for the invite Dave, I just got my boat this past spring and have not gotten it in shape for traveling and racing yet. I keep my boat in Grenada, MS for the summer. We have no marinas, but have excellent launch ramps. We keep our boats on mooring bouys. We have around 8 or 9 sailboats ranging...

Drawings ?
I am a new owner (Hull 351)and have yet to hoist the spinaker.
I ran across this with a site for drawings but had trouble, not available anymore ?
I would appreciate all available drawings of the spinaker line setups as well as any drawings of barber hauling lines etc.
Thanks,
Frank

Where to gett rudder pintle/grudgeon bushings
Hi I just lost one of my bushings off my rudder grudgeon (1984 model) 7.9. The other one is chipped/cracked. Where do I get replacements for those or do I have to make some? Any body have measurements or any ideas. I also bent the keeper pin that holds the rudder in up or down. Where can I get a rep...

How much do you use an autohelm ?
Thinking of buying an ST-1000 or ST 2000 autohelm.
How often or when do you use it, is it a luxury or just a nice to have item,
or didn't know what I was missing until I got one !
is the ST-2000 worth the extra $150 ?
I really would appreciate some input !
Thanks

What equipment ?
I am completly ignorant about tiller pilots: What extras would you need or recommend to go with the ST 1000 or 2000? GPS with what functions/interfaces? What else. I am looking for cruising reasons and what are the most desirable "needs" to go with the tiller pilot. I have seen complete ou...

Rudder position while on mooring buoy
Hi, I have just got my 7.9.
I am on a mooring buoy. In what position should the rudder be when left tied to the mooring buoy. Up or down ?
Any way to completely lift the rudder out of water Short of pulling the whole thing off?

Help !
 Just sailed my new 7.9 for first time. I hanked on the 150 genny and attached the tack to the hook just behind the forestay and tightened the jib halyard. The foot of the genny is up against the lifelines :? I then attached a tack line and hoisted the genny higher and to the top pulling on th...
