Main Sail question

I am looking at buying a new Doyle Main for my boat. My question is what is better for the 7.9, Bolt rope or slugs? My present main has slugs which are a pain to hoist but come down real quick. The rope looks like it may be more aerodynamic but come down tougher.

Re: Bottom flossing

I bought one a couple years ago from Chris Winnard, the local North Sails Rep. He works for Ullman now. I could take a picture of mine and post some dimensions.

Whidbey Island Race Week

Hi All,
Sugar Magnolia will be doing Whidbey Island Race Week July 19-23. Any other 7.9ers want to come out and race? Being from down in Olympia, I've never been able to go up against anothe 7.9.

Seattle's Star and Bar Regatta

An S2 7.9 (Arturo) here in Seattle just won the Seattle Yacht Clubs Star and Bar Regatta. Congrats to them. Also, sorry if I distracted someone on board and they got hit in the head with the Boom. :(

I race in PHRF-NW and they allow the board to be pulled with no rating adjustment. Base rating is 182. I got that from the head handicapper

I was thinking Pentex because I bought a new Pentex main from Neil Pryde about 2 years ago. It has worked pretty well and kept it shape fairly well. I've concidering buying from Lidgard because I know a Lidgard rep and he has promised to have his associate Doug Christie design it for me. We use a Do...

New #1 Headsail

I'm looking at buying a new #1. Was wondering what the going rate (cost) is. I'll be doing around 30+ races a year with it and want at least a Pentex to match the main I bought 2 years ago.  Hey Scott. Just curious why you've specified Pentex. There are a bunch of really good material...
