Optimim Heel Angle in 12 kts Flat Water

Hoisting Centerboard out while in Water
So has anybody hoisted their centerboard out of the boat, with the mast up, in the water, with boat tied up to dock. Need to quick sand and VC-17 the board and slip it back in. Is the non-centerboard ballast enough to keep the boat upright if everybody is real careful. We usually hoist the board out...

Re: chainplate rot and bulkhead damage
It is easy to fix bad core....see old post link below on core work for more tips: Working from bottom after taking headliner out...just start drilling small holes every inch up into punky balsa starting from source of rot and heading out until you find good dry light cream colored balsa...stop and m...

Re: Tabarnacle
Aluminum Plate on newer boats BUT rusty steel plate on my 1982 vintage boat. After digging through goo to rusty steel plate (really rusty....not just some surface rust) Big rusty flakes peeling off...did I say flakes? Thin chunks was more like it. Took out remains of steel plate, ordered similar thi...

From Dave Johnson at JSI S2 7.9 Mast
Your cost on a complete mast with spreaders and a steaming light with PVC conduit to the top is $2162. We need you to send us the existing mast plug as we have never supplied these. We can offer you a $150 credit if you would like to re-use your old spreader bracket. As you mentioned you would buy t...

Re: getting headliner out
Hi Cara...It is stuck on with some kind of carpet adhesive...not continuously...but enough that I am going to try a little heat gun (low setting) action on it to soften up the glue before peeling. And keep the pieces as they can be used as template for new. According to the famous S2 letter, it is i...

Re: CB trunk "plugs"

When you hit something with your board the back and front of trunk opening take a beating. Mine are little Delrin 3/4 x 3/4 x 2 or 3 rectangular sections. They can slip down from t...
