Fiberglass exposed inside CB trunk
I am preparing to remove the daggerboard tomorrow for yet to be determined repairs. I noticed that there is an area inside the trunk, of bare fiberglass. It is about 6X8 inches and is about 2 feet + - down from the top. Is this something that should be repaired, somehow? Whatever the vinyl looking m...

Re: Slow port tack speed
OK, we finally came to the conclusion that it is the board. We were getting walked all over by the big slow boats last Tuesday, until we raised the board ( with some difficulty ) half way, then we got our speed back. The board & boat will come out for the season next week, as the boat also need ...

Slow port tack speed
For the last few weeks we have seen the performance of our boat drop considerably. In light wind where we would normally leave all the bigger & heavier behind, we are now struggling to keep even with them. This weekend we started a race on a starboard tack and held 6.3 to 6.5 kts for 2 miles to ...

Re: Something Went BOOM
Thanks for the replys, I got a quote from Tops In Quality for the stern rail.. A machine shop is going to weld the post to the base when I pull the boat this fall. If that doesn't work, then I will order a new one. ( on the other guys insurance )

Something Went BOOM
Well it finally had to happen, I got broadsided last night by a slightly larger boat. The port toerail got bent up, and the stern pulpit got slightly bent where hit, and the first post over the stern snapped off at the weld at the base. What I need to find out is,, 1. Where would I find replacement ...

Sheet Replacements
I need to replace the main & genoa sheets. Any recommendations for brand and diameter ? Is 60' with an eye correct for the main, and 2 45 ' ( or 90' ) for the genoa the proper lenghts?
Thanks in advance..

Re: Spreader Angle
I figured the bracket on the mast was SS , as it is chrome plated. The rivits holding it to the mast are rusting too, so maybe time for remove & replace. Where would someone find a new bracket???

Re: Spreader Angle
I removed the spreader from the port side, which was higher than the starboard. I didn't see any cracks in the bracket, but it is evidently bent up in order to cause the uneven levels..

Spreader Angle
S2 newbie here, first season under belt.. Now, can anyone tell me the the spreaders are supposed to be level, or angled upwards and if so, what is the angle.
Both of mine are angles up, however the port spreader is about 1.5 - 2" higher at the tip than the starboard one.
