I think they are #10. I usually call Rigging Only, tell then my boat and they send me out a few. My crew hides them on me every winter.

I had similar damage just aft of the board. I cut out the skin from the outside, cleaned out the soft balsa, install new balsa and glass on new skin. Fair, fair, fair...then seal and paint. No issues 5 years later. I think it had been bumped and cracked while loading on a trailer in the past.

I think it is easier out of the boat. That way you can check all the way up and it is easier to fair in the repair. I would recommend glassing in the repair rather than filling it. I made new slides out of aluminum bar stock. The local machine shop cut the groove and I drilled the nounting holes. Had them powder coated black. They work great.
