Re: Upwind trim in 20mph breeze?

1. Headstay at max class dimension. Uppers + 12 turns from base (about 29 on "new" Loos guage). Lowers + 9 from base (don't know the actual Loos reading). 2. Backstay: 16 /1 "cascade" tackle... led P&S. Use Aggressively. (note... this is the new spectra backstay... not the ol...

Re: stock trailer weight

Your trailer looks exactly like mine for #520. It weighs #1575. We used it to weigh boats using the roll-on scale at the CCR this year, so I am very certain of the weight.

Re: Winter Scheduling - Regatta Participation

The 11 boats registered for the Equalizer can have a great discussion regarding the winter schedule. What we will be missing from our conversation is the other boats that tend to participate. Would like to hear from Bob Fleck and his friends from Ohio, and hopefully some boats from Lake Erie and the...

Re: Headliner Removal and Paint

520 has been "de-furred" for 3 seasons. It's a bit of a job, but well within an "amateur's" ability. Issues: 1. need to unscrew all deck hardware. 2. On our boat the contact cement had failed over large sections of the hull, so the fur came off in sheets, leaving some residue tha...

Winter Scheduling - Regatta Participation

I am proposing a serious discussion on this blog and at the Equalizer regarding people's commitments to Florida regattas for 2015. Each one of us has multiple responsibilities and opportunities that impact our decision of whether and how we participate in these events. From my personal POV racing so...

2014 CCR - Holland / Macatawa Bay YC

The entry form and NOR is posted at www.yachtscoring.com. Please note: We need advance notice to accomodate RV's. 2014 Bayview YC One Design Regatta

I realize that we were a "non - starter" at the last BYC ODR. Does any of the GL Fleet have an interest in showing up? We have it in our book for the moment, but need to begin planning.... Please indicate interest...

Re: 2015 CCR. Planning ahead.

Matros will participate wherever the regatta is scheduled. However, I would think the critical element to this discussion would be the "Southern" fleet's participation. It would be no fun without the "good old boys"...

Re: SARASOTA REGATTA

Thanks to Travis for running a great event this year. The Matros team really enjoyed our Southern tour this year, and encourage more folks to consider taking advantage of the opportunity to sail in the "off" season. We look forward to the opportunity to do it again next year.

Re: 2013 Annapolis NOOD - Regrets...

It is with great sadness that I have decided to "pull the plug" on this event. A combination of factors have caused me to reach a decision to not compete this year. Best wishes to all competitors and we hope to see you at another regatta this year. We're working hard to make Detroit and th...

2013 GCSC Porsche Cup @ Naples

There's a great event the weekend prior to the Mid Winters, just down the road from Sarasota in Naples. Last year Matros and T Bone ended up sailing PHRF (ended up 1 -2 in class B). I am hoping that some folks would consider participating so we can be on the OD course with AM 20s and M24s. For those...

And we would like to encourage our "East Side" Neighbors to consider our Commodore's Cup June 15 - 16. There will be a One-Design start, 5 race series, and an opportunity to sail in deep water...
