It is with great sadness that I inform the class members, that Alice Boston, wife of Spike Boston and mother of Tac, Brad, Brandy and Lyndsey passed away on Sunday. Alice was actively involved in the S2 7.9 class for many years and a great friend to many in the class.

BOSTON, Alice – Quietly at home on Sunday, February 21, 2010, Alice died at the age of 61. Beloved wife of Spike for 40 years. Loving mother of Tac, Brad (Liz), Brandy and Lyndsey (Derek Jackson). Proud grandma of Alyssa. Dear sister of James (Leah) Durfy, Anne Durfy, Helen (Thomas) Williams, Eleanor (Jerry Shaw) Shepherd; and sister-in-law of Nancy (Ray) Peltier, Sue (Michael) McMahon, Kay Wyszynski and Julie Boston. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Charles and Margaret Durfy, brothers Jack, Bob and Henry Durfy and her sister Verna (Dave) Georgi, brother-in-law Skip Boston and Ed Wyszynski. Alice was active in promoting Junior Sailing and organizing Sailfest Regatta with the Sarnia Yacht Club. Visitation will be held at the on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A Celebration of Alice’s life will be held at the Sarnia Yacht Club on Thursday, February 25th at 4 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Sarnia Yacht Club, Junior Sailing Program, 1220 Fort St., Pt. To say that all of us who love this sport have lost a friend and a helper is an understatement. "Sustainer" is a better term. Alice will be missed by anyone who loves water, boats and breeze.
