windows/vented portlite

Post by too2soon »

I just bought hull number 113 and there are no vented portlites/windows. I am new to the S2 7.9 so I am questioning if this was some sort of modification or if some earlier models were built without.

Thanks,
Leslie

The smaller opening ports in the forward cabin were factory options.

If you are looking to add new opening portlite... I put in the lewmar ones a few years back because they don't have the leak issues my old ones do, plus I think they look better. If you keep an eye on ebay you can pick them up for around 100 bucks each. :)

What do members think about modifying the class rules to allow changing the main windows to opening portlights. Would probably require some glass work. I think it would be a sweet addition to the 7.9 that the class rules shouldn't prohibit.Image

I think it should be an allowed modification. I think that a re-weighing would be in order after such a mod.
Thanks
