Come on people, we need to make use of this web site lest it begin to fade away . .

So just to kick things off, I offer you this tidbit . .

Have any of you seen this boat? I really wonder how such drastic alterations would affect helm balance - among other things . .

I wonder what the hull number it was. G&S designed a mast head rig, full keel version of the 7.9 and S2 produced a few. I wonder how Sawzall would stack up against those.

The boat, before it was altered with a sawzall, was called Lion's Pride. As I remember, it did the 1994 MORC Nationals in Toronto as a 7.9, and then the owner decided to make it more competitive in MORC, so he made the changes. Cut off some of the freeboard and cabin top, put a Glen Henderson keel on the boat, and made it a mast head. Tac Boston could tell you what hull # the boat is/was, and some more details of the boat. It came up and did a regatta in Sarnia after the surgery. At the time I was racing my Olson 911and don't remember how competive the boat was after the changes, as they were racing in another class.
