Registering as an Antique Vessel

I am in the process of registering Hull# 416 as an antique vessel and need a surveyor to verify 3 things, according to the state of Florida. They are:
1) Powered by its original type power plant (Mine never had an IB motor)
2) Used for non-commercial purposes
3) Vessel must be at least 30 years old
Has anyone else been through this process? I imagine the surveyor just needs to verify the HIN#, which includes the year of the boat. I don't think it needs to be any more complicated than that if you take what the state is asking for (a signature of a licensed surveyor) and nothing more. Any input would be much appreciated.

Just spoke with FLDOT. The surveyor is not necessary, which contradicts what they told me at the DMV. If you would like more information, add to this string.

Gales,
I checked everywhere I could for Michigan, but no Historical Vessel registration is available up here.
Thanks,

Just got back from the FL DMV. I paid $4.18 for annual registration of my antique S2 7.9.
