Thought this was pretty cool ... I just saw there's a s2 7.9 racing in the Race to Alaska. They're about 80% of the way, kudos to Teewinot!

Just curious - has anyone else here ever taken your 7.9 on long distance races like this or long distance trips?

Re: s2 7.9 in r2ak
Apparently Ben and Linda own hull #44... what are the chances I would buy hull #45 and bring it back to the same city (Idaho Falls)? I wish them all the luck for a win. There is R2AK coverage on the 48 Degrees North website (a free sailing magazine based in Seattle - https://48north.com/).
Does two boats in one town constitute a fleet?

An S2 7.9 did the Pacific Cup...doublehanded from San Francisco to Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii.
They DNF'd due to rudder failure in 1996, then built a one-piece non-kickup rudder for 1996 and finished.
