Parting Out a 7.9?

Post by FEVER »

Members are looking for masts, dagger boards, rudders and other had to find original parts for their boat.

I have just bought a better boat to replace a very early hull number boat and was wondering if parting it
out might work out better than selling complete.

But, with so few boats in my area, it be too far to transport large/long items to where the majority of possible
buyers are.

Has anyone parted out a boat? If so, how well did it work?

Any thoughts?

(Sorry, I am not presently offering parts, or even the boat for sale. Just thinking right now. It will be a while
before I am ready to do anything.)

If you decide to part her out (better to return her to the water with a new owner)
Please let me know if you have a 105 jib for sale
Mine is quite old but I dont race in the class just PHRF

Thanks Ed

Boat #017 went to its new home in Western Connecticut in June.

The new owner is aware of the class association, I'll let him introduce himself.
Nice guy. Should be an asset to the class.
