Hi, we are new to the class. We club raced our boat Hull #140 in Indianapolis last season mainly against J24’s and J22’s. We want to attend at least one class regatta this year. Please give us reasons why you prefer one over others. Last year was a bit humbling but we are improving rapidly. Would love to get tips on rigging, general set up, or anything anyone is willing to share. Thanks in advance. Chuck Goff 317-938-1019. chuckg121@gmail.com

Welcome to the class Chuck, I think you’ll find folks are great about helping you up the learning curve. Nashville’s Equalizer would be a great first travel regatta, mainly because the conditions will be similar to what your accustomed to sailing, inland lake, flat water, very little wave action. Most of the other regattas are on bigger water, greater chance of sailing in conditions that are new, a regatta isn’t the best place to start learning to drive waves. The Equalizer is relatively close, generally draws a dozen or more boats. Also the party at Paul’s house is a great place to meet other S2 sailors. Hope to see you in Nashville in October, James

Equalizer is great...we left our boat there this winter and are picking it up for the St Pete NOODS. St Pete, is bay water racing not much for waves a lot like a lake (in my experience there). So come join us in St Pete!! You will find the fleet very helpfull and friendly! Welcome!! Jeff (#250 and #32)
