S2 7.9 Meter Class Association

My RV has a 5,000 lb tow capacity. My S2 is on the calkins trailer mast up. The distance from the parking area to the ramp is under a 1/2 mile with a steep road about 900 feet long. I would really really like to use my RV to launch my boat for the weekend vs my truck. but concerned my RV is under equipped for this short trip.

What do you all think?

What does a fully loaded for racing S@ 7.9 weigh on trailer?

Bare boat with cushions no motor should weigh 4600. Some hulls are a couple hundred pounds light a few are a little heavier than 4600#. Racing trim with motor, sails, etc… probably close to 5000#, my trailer weighs about 1400#. Suspect most 7.9’s tow weight will be between 6000-7500 pounds depending on trailer and gear stowed on the boat when traveling. Good luck.

Thanks took the truck. Even though it is only a half mile at most last thing I wanted to do was ruin my RVs transmission.
