Engine replacement

I'm considering the purchase of a S2 7.9 and want an inboard. Does anyone have any experience or input on replacing the engine or modifying the boat to except a 4 stroke gas saildrive? thanks

I have not replaced an engine. However, my 7.9 has a Yanmar 1GM10 rather than the customary BMW. It is a wonderful inboard. Easy to service, a snap to winterize, reliable and provides excellent performance. I think it's likely to be a more practical replacment option.
