7.9 Pricing & Selling

Post by Al Seim »

Hello -

It's time (sob) to sell my old friend so that someone else can enjoy her.

After much pleasure and many MORC trophies I've gotten so busy with family and business that I don't seem to have any time to sail any more.

I'm a class association member so I'll advertise here and in the newsletter, but I have no idea what a fair price might be. I paid $22,000 back in 1987 but that's a long time ago. Hull # is 133, outboard, if that makes a difference, and I do have a trailer.

What's the price range on 7.9s these days, and where are good places to advertise?

Thanks!

I've seen them selling from $12k from a salty non-one-design inboard up to $25k for a freshwater completely decked out (new PBO sails, etc) One-Design legal near-class champion.
