Has anyone tried a dual-ended mainsheet set up?

If it doesn't fit elsewhere.....

I've been looking at some dual main-sheet setups. If you grab both ends of the line and pull, it is a 3:1 purchase, and if you pull only 1 it is a 6:1 purchase. You can see a picture here:

My 4:1 just hasn't been enough in heavy air, and I hate the amount of line I need to pull in at the leward mark. Seems like this is the perfect solution.

Has anyone tried one of these :?:

Tom,
We haven't seen a need for one on Hot Tamale yet but the Catalina 320 I distance race on has a 2-speed set up that is 6:1/12:1. It is very useful for the fine trimming we do after a tack.
Thanks,

Tom
I have been using a 4:1 double ended main sheet arrangement for about 3 years now. I was able to convert and or reuse much of the original hardware. The boat is in Fairhaven Michigan, if you would like to see what was done.

:D

MINE WORKS FINE. SEE LAYOUT IN LAYLINE WITH HARKEN BLOCKS.

BOSTON'S ARGUE THAT IF IT IS TOO HARD TO PULL IN, YOU ARE TRYING TOO HARD! CONSIDER IT. MY BOAT SAILS BEST MAIN DOWN.
