Does anyone know the "official" gross and net tonnage of a 7.9? The border nazis want to know.

on a simmilar topic, for class weighing anything permenantly mounted, ie: extra battery, or fuel tank (empty) may remain in the boat??????
"Permamently mounted" would indicate that your battery and/or fuel tank is screwed / glued / glassed onto the boat. Are you sure that's what you want?

On a semi-related note; I've noticed that the weigh in procedures for the class are remarkably similar to the weigh in procedures used by IRC.
Has anyone taken the time to study the differences?(I haven't had the time, and claim no expertise.) Question: would the 7.9 class consider the option of permitting a valid IRC certificate as a reasonable substitute for a class weight certificate? (providing that the differences are minor.)
I'm not trying to open a can of worms, just suggesting the possibility of killing two birds with one stone.
