Please note that regatta registration includes dinner for two, both Friday and Saturday night.

Registration and measurement will be on Wednesday 8/8 from 9 AM to 5 PM.
Please plan to be there early if you need your boat weighed (that is if you don't have a copy of your valid weight cert.)

Notice of Regatta


1.0 VENUE/AUTHORITY:
1.1 The S2 7.9 Class Association in conjunction with the Milwaukee Yacht Club, Milwaukee WI

2.0 RULES:
2.1 The Regattas will be governed by the “rules” as defined in the Current Racing Rules of
Sailing (RRS)
2.2 The S2 7.9 Class Association Rules apply.

3.0 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY:
3.1 The event is open to all boats that qualify as an S2 7.9. Both inboard and outboard configurations are eligible. Current S2 7.9 Class Association membership is required for all helmspersons, per class rules.

4.0 FEES:
4.1 The S2 7.9 Class Association shall collect all membership fees.
4.2 Fees for entering the regatta, food and social fees are detailed on the Regatta Entry Form and shall be collected by the Milwaukee Yacht Club.

5.0 SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
Wednesday August 8, 2007, 9AM – 5PM Registration, measurement.
Boat without current, valid weight certificates may weigh in no later than 3:00 PM
Sail measurement and registration will continue until 5PM.
Competitors are advised that registration & measurement closes at 5PM.
An ‘emergency registration provision’ may be granted to a boat only if it has suffered a breakdown in transit. Such boats without valid weight certificates shall carry the class-required 200 lbs ballast.
There may be a ‘practice race’ scheduled after 3 PM.

Thrs August 9, 2007 Racing and Annual meeting
Sail measurement and boat inspections shall be complete no later than 8AM (This provision is available only as an ‘emergency registration provision’.)
Up to four races may be held.
The Annual meeting shall be held at approximately 6:00 PM

Fri August 10, 2007 Racing and dinner
Up to four races may be held.
A casual dinner at Milwaukee Yacht Club will begin at approximately 6:30 PM.

Sat August 11, 2007 Racing and Banquet
Up to four races may be held.
No race shall begin sequence after 1400.
The Regatta Banquet and Awards presentation at MYC will begin at approximately 6:30 PM
6.0 MEASUREMENT:
6.1 Competitors are advised that all S2 7.9 class rules apply for all hull, rig, sail and crew weight measurements. Any boat may be re-inspected and/or re-measured at any time before 1800 August 11, 2007. A boat failing any such measurement inspection shall be deemed to have been out of compliance for all races up to that point.

7.0 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS:
7.1 The Sailing instructions for the regatta will be distributed at each event.

8.0 COURSES:
8.1 The courses shall be a Windward-Leeward configuration.

9.0 SCORING:
9.1 For each individual regatta in the Series, the Low Point Scoring System as described in
Appendix “A” of the RRS will apply. Throw-outs may be allowed.

10.0 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY:
10.1 The safety of a boat and her entire management shall be the sole inescapable responsibility
of the owner/owners’ representative. Sailing is an activity that has an inherent risk of damage and injury. Competitors in this event are participating entirely at their own risk.

The race organizers (organizing authority, race committee, protest committee, host club,
sponsors, or any other organization or official) will not be responsible for damage to any
boat or other property or the injury to any competitor, including death, sustained as a result
of participation in this event. By participating in this event, each competitor agrees to
release the race organizers from any and all liability associated with such competitor’s
participation in this event to the fullest extent permitted by law.

11.0 INSURANCE:
11.1 Each boat is required to hold adequate insurance including third-party liability insurance.
It is the owner or owners’ representative’s sole and inescapable responsibility to ensure
that the insurance is in place and is adequate prior to participating in this event. Proof of
insurance may be requested.
