Just want to give everyone connected to the regatta a thank you. Also a want to comment on the great job Paul and his bunch at PPYC did helping all the 7.9s feel at home. Also what a great asset we have in the Bostons, even though they kick our butt they do it with such great sportsmanship. Brad is just unnaturally good and it was great racing against him and the other Bostons.

Thanks to all the boats that traveled to Nashville last weekend-- with an 11-boat fleet, it was the best OD event on our lake (other than some J22 fleets) in many years. The racing was usually very close, the weather cooperated, the RC work was excellent, the Predators were in town for the hockey fans, and Dr. Paul opened his home to the fleet for a great party. We'll try to do a short piece for the Class Act, but the results had Mark Gutteridge's Hunting Party edging out Frequent Flyer in a tiebreaker, with the Relentless (a/k/a Remorseless) thugs coming from the pack on the second day for third place. We got in 7 races over two days, and it seems a good time was had by all.
We will have a CD of pics from the regatta (really, this time), if anyone wants us to post some shots. The preview I've seen of the photos suggests they are excellent close focus action pics (including one of yours truly climbing the stick-- yes, again-- to retrieve a loose halyard). Lemme know who wants a CD, or if you'd like to see the shots posted.
Again, many thanks to the folks who traveled to the regatta from Arkansas, St. Louis, Sarnia, Detroit-- I hope they all spread the word that this was some good racing, and entice other folks to head this way next year.
Finally, congrats to Paul Latour and crew for winning the first series honors for the inaugural Southern Series, which we hope will be a long-running event-- and thanks to Nick and Karen Burgett for creating a terrific permanent trophy for the series.

I'd like a CD with pics of the NE. Email me at sj24 AT icehouse.net and I'll give you my address. I'd be happy to pay for it.
Thanks,

Equalizer pics
just got hundreds of good pics from the Nashville Equalizer-- they are high resolution shots, good quality, some great action pics: starts, mark roundings, crossings, etc., and there are even a few where one of the Bostons (or Guts, or Remorseless) isn't in the lead (but only a few).
if anyone has any interest in seeing these on the S2 website, lermme know who I should send them to for posting, or lemme know how I can post them (I've got the photographer's OK to post them). if anyone wants to buy their own CD, the website address is <www.akirkfoto.com> where's he's got ordering info, and he's selling them for $8 for a 2 CD set, a great deal for over 300 pictures.
and if you come to Nashville next year, you too can be in pictures...
