Little bit of both. We had a pre-start injury on Tuesday that turned out not to be as serious as at first feared. Nice job sucking it up, Chuck. Wednesday was gear problem that we got fixed back at the dock, so we were back to 100% on Thursday. Our bad races were the result of going the wrong way, not the boat's fault. When we pointed it right, we were competitive with everybody except Mistress and Circus.fleck wrote: Anyone have info on Wined up Toy? Broken gear yesterday, or just being conservative. Hope the later.
Good Luck guys and keep up the good work.
Only the owner and one other guy on our boat are 7.9 regulars, so we screwed it up quite a bit. I came away pretty impressed with the boats though.
Almost forgot, Mistress DNF on Thursday was a result of a SPECTACULAR knockdown under chute. Their board was up, ours was down and we (Wined Up Toy) had just passed them, so you all might not be so quick to pull them up in tricky waves.
Great job Mistress team. We met them at the tent and both crews ended up having dinner together on Friday night. Great bunch of guys. Great time this week. The rest of you need to come on down.

Sorry for the late reply, I've been traveling the last few days.
TERRIFIC job guys! Congrats to both boats, Wined Up Toy and Mistress. Great racing.
That was an especially great job of keeping the mystery open until the last gun on the last day! Laying it down, just to keep things interestin' until the end. Nice!

where to dock in kw
key west bight puts you in a safe spot and right in the middle of the action. Long trip to the race course but sure is a great parade, other option is the marina just prior to the island think its ocean something. Its much closer but a 15 minute drive back to the tent and all the activities. If you need crew let me know! I owned wined up toy and made two trips. You can compete very well in PHRF 7 so get ready to get up on that podium nothing like it.

KWRW
JP.
As long as you are taking Magic to Key West, why not stop in Melbourne for our fall ragatta.
I have sailed Magic and did KYRW on Rooster Tail.
