2004 Detroit NOOD Cancelled?

I been keeping my ear to the ground for the last couple months regarding the 2004 Detroit NOOD.

Based on some of the J105 Class schedules that have been posted, the Chicago NOOD has been moved timewise and now covers the slot after Toronto and Before Chicago that Detroit always used to fill.

The grapevine says that there were some sponsership troubles, and that the venue left alot to be desired in the way of facilities, and that may have led to the downfall of the NOOD at Bayview. It seems like a travesty to me to take the Detroit NOOD away, but I recently noticed my Sailing World will stop appearing in my mailbox as well /shrug.

If so, will the 7.9's attempt to create a class at the Toronto NOODs?

Have the class officers heard anything regarding this that they might be allowed to share?

The sailing world website has finally posted the following dates for NOOD Regatta's.

Detroit June 4,5 and 6.
Chicago June 11,12 and 13.
Toronto June 25,26 and 27.

Toronto is a new event.Is there any interest within the class in attending this event.Some insight on whether the RCYC and the other clubs could handle this innagural event would be helpfull.I know it is not cheap to stay in Toronto The Good.Maybe we could get a cheap rate if Toronto is still recovering from last year's SARS scare.

Silver Streak is planning on doing Toronto. Should be great. Toronto is a fun town!
