2010 Annapolis NOODs ---> April 30 - May 2
We had 12 boats in 2008, it would be great to see that many or more again!
Two boats will be traveling down from the great state of Massachusetts (Maniac #311, and Peregrine #395).
First round of Chesapeake Ales at the Boatyard (one of the world's great sailing bars) is on me!

I can't speak for the Prez, but I know Rebel has discussed it. We seem to go every other year and this is the year. Somebody wake Fleck up and get him to drag some boats to the regatta.

Rebel is planning on attending Annapolis. Can we get a roll call of who else is planning on attending?? Registration is now open, so let's get the fleet signed up early so that we can establish our class for the regatta. The class had some really good racing in St. Pete, lets repeat it in Annapolis (hopefully it will be warmer, I hope it doesn't snow in May). Also, the Rebel crowd will take up Bart on his offer of Chespeake Ales at the Boatyard (we never pass up beer, we do sail out of Canada). So let's get signed up before I have to start sending everyone personell e-mails, trying to get the fleet together.
See you on the water!!

Peregrine is now registered!
Here is some additional info for others new to Annapolis NOODs:
Facilities in Annapolis are S2 7.9 user friendly, just not directly through local NOOD organizers. Launch boat at Truxton Park in Annapolis, good ramp, several of the S2's that do the regatta will be there Thurs afternoon. You can keep the boat at City Marina in a slip, walking distance to downtown Annapolis, costs about $35/day, getting a slip on short notice is not a problem. I have done it the last 3 years, used routine above each time. Races are run very professionally by AYC. Hope to see you there! Feel free to email me at bwelden@epsilon.com with any questions.
Bart.

After a long hiatus from one design racing, Maniac (#311) will be back in action at the Annapolis NOODs. Come party with the Maniacs and our buddies on Peregrine! Last year we set a record for the most Cheasepeake Ales on one tab at the Boatyard Bar & Grill, and we're looking to beat it this year. Get a slip at City Marina and we can swap stories after the race before feasting on everything that can be made with crab. We're looking forward to learning a few tips from Rebel, and are hoping that a few other smoking fast boats will show up as well.

What? huh? What do you mean wake up? I'm awake. With Boz in 'command' of the website I'm not online as much as I used to be.
I was just logging in to start talking up A-town and lo and behold, I was beat to the punch. Excellent!
The Naptown NOOD will again be the S2 7.9 East Coast Championship. Special trophy for the big winner along with the NOOD trophy (might even throw in an 'unofficial' jug of Mount Gay - everything goes better with rum). Horizon will be making the trip
The ramp at Truxton park is brand new( was unavailable last year) and I hear its nice. The 'City Dock' is available as Bart has stated. I'm going to try to get some 'cheaper' slips lined up at the Presidents Place condominiums and another marina as well.
Most of the 'old' info for Annapolis is accurate. The only change is that the 'old' slips at AYC where we used to be able to find space are now the 'new and fancy' slips at AYC. Might not be as easy to 'slip' in.
I still have the Google map with points of interest in Annapolis. Here's the link: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&ie ... 09613&z=14
Just for the record, like last year, I no longer live near Annapolis (yes I know its all relative). That said, I'll do what I can for anyone coming to Annapolis.

Hello all!- The last post in this "Regattas & Events" topic was 15 days ago regarding the Annapolis NOOD! Is anyone following this thread? Who esle on the East coast is attending? What about the boats on Lake Erie along the South shore or folks in Michigan or Canada? The count is at 5 to date. Let's make it 10.

Re: 2010 Annapolis NOODs ---> April 30 - May 2
I highly recommend this event for anyone whose local season doesn't start until May (especially all you Great Lakes sailors!). I've done it the last three years on Peregrine (395) and am taking my boat this year (Maniac, 311). You get in 8 good races, so once your local season kicks off you are already in the groove. We took bullets in our first four races after coming back from Annapolis last year. You also get a taste of summer weather, as well as one of the best sailing bars in the world (The Boatyard Bar & Grill). Launching and hauling last year was a problem due to reconstruction of the ramp site, but this year it should be fine. There is plenty of space to store trailers, and the City Marina is a great spot to keep the boat ... a short walk to either the party tent or the Boatyard.
We had 11 boats in 2007 and it was great, so if you're thinking about it, get off the fence and register!

What other boats are on the East coast/surrounding area that we can contact that race via phone email to inform them of the regatta/seek interest? I don't believe many class members follow this forum so we'll need to think outside the box in order to get more than 5 boats on a starting line. The odds of having a very inexpensive regatta is looking very good at this time with new Class Stimulus Package offering!
