Louisville, Ky - 2 Regattas Sept 16-18 & 23-25

This is a unique opportunity to race with the Louisville, KY S2 7.9 fleet (7 boats now) in support of our local Leukemia Society and River City Sailing Program which instructs both children and adults in the art of sailing. The Louisville Leukemia Cup will be held on (Sat/Sun) Sept 17th and 18th , while the Captains Quarter Regatta will be conducted on (Sat/Sun) Sept 24th and 25th. Parties for both events are Friday night during registration and Saturday evening after racing. There will be other fleets also participating and usually includes 2 Jam fleets and one additional spinnaker fleet (non s2 7.9). We are trying to get the word out as early as possible so that if you will have ample time to make plans to attend. You can register Sat am if you can’t arrive Fri evening.

Our goal for the Leukemia Cup is to raise $30,000. Your cost to race during this weekend - $ 0. But I’m sure that after you experience DERBY CITY hospitality, that you will make a fair donation. The Captains Quarters Regatta committee has not provided us with regatta fees yet, but I would expect it to be around $ 80 which includes 2 tee shirts and food vouchers for the weekend. We are in the process of arranging accommodations for both sailors and boats for the weekends.

We already have 2 verbal commitments for this year and one is from Paul Latour. Paul has been coming here for the past three years and our fleet goes to Nashville in Oct for the Equalizer. Come join us for one or both weekends. We will be happy to see ya.

Thank you for the invitation. Sounds like a great event, and a great opportunity to gather a fleet. Unfortunately a wedding in the family will mean we'll need to look forward to next year.
