My crew and I sailed in our second Whidbey Island Race Week last week. http://whidbeyislandraceweek.com Last year we got our butts handed to us but we learned alot. We were 13 out of 15. The S2 7.9 Arturo got 3rd. The class handicap range was large with the fastest being a B-25 at 147 and the slowest being a US 25 at 243.
This year was different. The class was only six boats comprised of 2 Olson 25's, 2 Martin 242's, a J-24, and Us. We placed 3RD!!!! A gift from GOD. I never thought we would place that high, but it was great to be on the podium when it was done. We sailed 11 races in 4 days in winds from 5 - 20kts. The week was a complete blast. Wish Arturo and Avalon (the two other active local boats) could have made it or some of the Class Association boats. I would trade my podium finish any day to have 3 or more 7.9s at the line in the PNW.
Next year if anyone wants to come out you are welcome on my boat.
I've attached a link to a GoPro video I took from the second day. Feel free to critique the crew work. I'm always up to learn.

Scott,
Is PHRF NW allowing you to raise your centerboard? I was under the impression that they have said no.
Thanks,
Kevin Timoney
