Red Fox Regatta in Charlevoix, MI

Post by USA007 »

Charlevoix Yacht Club hosts a regatta every year on Labor Day weekend, which is open to all boats. It starts off on Friday evening with an optional buoy race, typically of an olympic triangle variety. Saturday the race takes you to Boyne City by way of several buoys designed to lengthen and add additional points of sail to the race course. Sunday's race is a similar format ending up back in Charlevoix. The fleets are divided up into various phrf and one design classes. If we get 5 boats we can have our own start. Currently we have 3 S2 7.9s committed to race, so if we can get 2 more we would have our own fleet/start. If we get even more boats we can have even more fun!

This regatta is one of the highlights of a Michigan Summer. This is a beautiful lake to sail on and great time of the year to be there.

Dates: September 4th-6th
Host: Charlevoix Yacht Club
Note: 2 of the 3 S2 7.9s currently planning to race in the Red Fox have mast head kites and are considered "turbo rigs". Both boats are willing to race in class configuration, with the standard fractional spinnakers, if we can get at least 5 boats.

Please let me know if you have interest.

I haven't received any interest so far, but wanted to put one last note up here in case anyone else was interested in doing the Red Fox Regatta. The information is below:
