Carey,
Nashville Equalizer is a very fun event. Percy Priest “lake” is located about 10 minutes east of the Nashville airport and about 20-25 minutes from downtown Nashville. There are a lot of hotels near by, because of the airport and these are all nice. We generally stay at the Holiday Inn Express, they have a nice breakfast in the morning.
Racing is Saturday and Sunday. There is a boat ramp right at yacht club (Hamilton Creek Marina). We like to get into Nashville on Thursday afternoon, drop boat at PPYC, get hotel room, grab something to eat and go downtown to honky tonk bars. If you’ve never been to Broadway in Nashville, it is a lot of fun. Doing this Thursday night gives you some recovery time, before it is time to go racing.
We the generally rig boat and splash it Friday mid-day, then go sailing the rest of the afternoon.
Saturday after racing, Paul Latour hosts a class party at his house, with his world renown gumbo!! Always a great event!!
We generally get 15-20 boats for the regatta, for some good small lake racing. A handful of owners leave their boats at PPYC till February, and pick them up on their way down to St. Pete NOOD Regatta.
I hope this answers your questions and we will see you in Nashville in the fall.
