Stern Pulpit

Post by Mudflap »

I'm looking for a set of stern pulpit "handles". Right now I have the full one peice pulpit that wraps all the way around the back of the boat. It's really in the way when dealing w/ the outboard!

Any ideas on new or used??

I can make someone a real deal on what I have now! Located in Pensacola FLA.

Thanks,

Stern Pulpit

Mudflap,
I have the stern pulpit on my boat and sail on one without. We take the motor off on both boats, both weight 58 lbs. I much prefer the full pulpit as I have worked out a way to do it nicely. I reach over and hold the motor while a crew member unscrews the screws. I lift it up and swing the lower unit throught the pulpit while the crew member takes the lower unit as I switch hands and then I take control and stow below.
To reinstall, reverse.
We sail almost every week and this works very well. Have the helmsman reach off on port tack with the traveler down.

Did you purchase your boat in the last 6 momths?

I agree with Larry. IMHO, removing the motor is much easier with the full stern pulpit.
Best wishes,
Tom

Not sure if he'll make them but a good place to start is Barry Schnur at Whitewater Marine, 1-810-987-4837.

Remember: It's always nice to have a handrail while peeing.
Especial after a few beers. oops, I mean a race.
