I am beginning a conversion...from outboard power to a Yanmar inboard diesel. Have a 1GM10, shaft, and strut from a 7.9. What I need are some measurements for locating the strut. I'm thinking, a measurement from the transom lower edge (outside), to the front, and rear edge of the strut, (the base, or the strut leg, please specify) at the hull surface. All who can send measurements will be very helpful! I want to keep the original location, and would like to compare a number of measurements to verify the correct position on the hull.
