Companionway Hatch Needed

Post by Joe Erwin »

Anyone know of a lexan polycarbonate companionway hatch that might be available? I am bringing hull 386 back to life and the existing hatch is severely broken. I see there were some produced late last year that were special order. Tierra Yachts will produce but the production price is now $600.00. I did make contact with Alice from Doyle Boston and she said there may be some that were chipped in transit that may be available but have been unable to confirm. After replacing running, some of standing, Genoa cars, bottom, gel coat/ fiberglass repairs, lifelines, most hardware (and sails still to come) would love to find a deal on the hatch!! Thanks!!

I got mine for $131.99 including shipping from Outlaw Marine / ebay back in 2005. They are out of business - I think. You want to search for a
BOMAR DECK HATCH (NEW) 16 X 16 BLK. Good luck.
Don't suppose you have an extra mast shoe?

Thanks Yellow Jacket! No extra Mast Shoe and on the hatch question what I meant to ask was about the curved companionway sliding cover.I did also replace the forward hatch with a Bomar that fit nicely at about $250.00

companionway hatch cover

You might try local glass companies, they can make a cover for you, for $150 +-, The lexan the glass companies use, here on the Gulf coast, has a high resistance to impact loads and would be a cheaper sourse than most you've discussed.
